Shaun Escoffery
Mufasa
Shaun Escoffery was born in London and gained recognition as a popular English soul and R&B singer. His first major release was the single “Space Rider,” which came out in March 2001 under the label Oyster Music. The track received regular airplay on BBC Radio 1, thanks to DJs like Trevor Nelson and the Dreem Teem. “Space Rider” peaked at No. 52 on the UK Singles Chart. Following this success, he released another hit, “Days Like This,” which reached No. 53 in 20021.
In addition to his music career, Shaun Escoffery has made significant contributions to the West End theatre scene. Notably, he played Mufasa in a London production of The Lion King. His other West End credits include roles in Les Misérables, Smokey Joe’s Café, Tommy, and Mama I Want to Sing1. Escoffery’s powerful voice and stage presence have left a lasting impact on audiences.
Outside of music and theatre, Shaun enjoys training in Gracie Jiujitsu, where he holds a black belt2. His talent and versatility continue to make him a respected figure in both the entertainment industry and martial arts community.
